A sea of granite towering above!

Let our professional ACMG Guides at VMG plan and lead your climb. Yak Peak is an iconic granite peak soaring above the Coquihalla highway. Yak Check is the combination of two routes on Yak Peak. We climb the better, bottom half of Yak Crack to where it intersects the route Reality Check then climb the better, top half of Reality Check to the summit. This provides almost 2000 feet of fun climbing with fantastic views the whole way. With a relatively quick approach, mostly bolted belays, and easy walk off, this route is a coastal favorite.

For climbers wanting to climb this route with less multi-pitch experience we recommend registering for a guided ascent of the Chief. The long routes on the Chief, such as the Squamish Buttress via Butt Face, are excellent preparatory routes for Yak Check. If you are comfortable climbing one of the long routes to the Chief summit, you are likely well poised for climbing Yak Peak!
